Historically, every six to eight weeks MCRHS used farm chemicals to kill weeds along the tracks and on the right of way. After consulting with a professional chemical engineer, it was determined that more appropriate chemicals could be applied once in the spring. With the new chemicals, the entire 12 miles of CBRR track and right of way will be free of weeds and brush after only one application. It is important to keep the tracks clear of debris for safety and aesthetic reasons and especially in light of the opening of the Waterville Hotel in the spring of 2009. The hotel is located adjacent to our railroad tracks in downtown Waterville.

A total of $3050.00 is required to complete this project.
